The gateway plugs into a nearby wall outlet, receives readings from nearby sensors, and measures the appliance's power draw. Your appliance can plug into it.

The vented lid
Seven vents expose the sensor to the appliance's air instead of insulating it behind plastic.
Typically about a year on a coin cell
Deep cold shortens battery life, and the app warns you before it runs out. On-board memory keeps recording when power or Wi-Fi drop. Recovering those readings is a manual Sync trip pull in the app; gaps stay visible.
A freezer-rated shell
Smaller than an AirPods case, knurled so cold fingers can grip it, and rated for temperatures down to −4 °F (−20 °C).
The adhesive ring
Every kit includes an alcohol prep pad and a peel-and-stick ring for each puck: wipe, peel, press it to a wall — and shelves stay free. Or leave the ring off and the puck simply sits where you put it.

Temperature, humidity, and appliance power appear on one timeline. ColdMinder can mark patterns consistent with a door opening, defrost cycle, or recovery after a warm load; these are estimates. Weekly summaries show the percentage of recorded-air readings in range, estimated door openings, and estimated recorded-air recovery.
A likely cause, clearly explained
ColdMinder names a likely door, compressor, or reporting pattern only when the measurements support it.
A time-temperature guide
For food compartments, see recorded-air time above 40°F beside USDA two-hour guidance. Recorded air is not food temperature or a verdict on food condition.
Compressor work, over time
A gradual increase can prompt a service check even while recorded air remains in range. It is an indication, not a diagnosis or prediction.
Energy against the model's rating
The gateway measures appliance draw and places its estimated pace beside the certified rating when the model is known.
Trends, event labels, and comparisons are estimates from your own measurements.
